The goal for this project was to create a common house for seniors living inside a senior community, it focused on ADA compliance with aging in place features, ergonomic furniture, and wide walkways with no tripping hazards. It also had several aspects that the residents had asked for but may not have had enough space in their private units. The common house encourages interaction with the residents and within the community by having game nights, dinners, and hanging out on the large outdoor patio area. The common house also includes the residents' mailboxes, larger washers if needed and guest rooms. This project is located in Brazil which required extensive research of the culture and materials they use there.
